The project, located in the central location of Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong Province, Vietnam and completed in 2022, has a size of 559 sqm and was designed in 2021. The client’s requirements, including three bedrooms, two dedicated workspaces, a combined living and kitchen area, a gymnasium, and an altar room on the uppermost floor, all with sound insulation as a priority given the client’s work habits due to the project’s location in the main traffic city centre. With the large original area and the need for a basic functional living space to take advantage of creating connected vast spaces. To maintain continuity of space, extra care was taken to position structural elements such as columns at a distance from each other to minimise any interruption of the available area.

This project balances private and communal spaces while meeting client needs and utilising unique features of the site. Comprising 250 sqm of living space, a courtyard, and a backyard, the backyard offers privacy and views while the courtyard offers views from the front of the villa. Large doors connecting internal and external spaces provide natural light, wind circulation and eco-views. The facade is designed in a horizontal direction, with geometric intersection creating dynamic and irregular shaping, volume expansion, and deep perspective. The building in the small backyard was designed to follow a vertical direction to create a viewpoint from the living space around the yard. The project uses a variety of materials and production methods, incorporates solar panels and a smart home system, and balances colour for design and purpose. The use of solar panels is environmentally friendly, contributing to a sustainable and energy-efficient home.
